Grenzig Sr. used to come to the USA (1870) said Friedrich August Grenzig on it yet had John&#8217;s wife Sophie, and his three children on it, not Friedrich&#8217;s. It seems that John some how used Friedrich&#8217;s passport but we do not know why. They both had the middle name August, and John only signed the passport as August Grenzig, possibly in fear of being caught forging a signature on a document. Maybe John could not obtain his own Passport in Germany, and used Friedrich&#8217;s instead!
